This versatile mount lets you securely attach an iPad Mini (Gen 5) to a Mavic 2 (Pro or Zoom) drone controller with ease. The design consists of two distinct parts. The first is a part that fits snugly into each of the two handles on the controller, requiring only one STL file and a print run of twice (once for the left and once for the right handle). The second part is the actual holder where the iPad slides in seamlessly, and then fastens to the handle extensions through a convenient hole. This holder remains securely in place thanks to the nuts, which are also printed out from a single STL file. I've chosen not to use commercially available mounts because they position the display above the controller, blocking the view of the controller's display and making the entire setup top-heavy and prone to tipping. By positioning the display below the controller, this design eliminates both problems effectively. The prototype performed flawlessly, but I anticipate making a few minor adjustments and refinements, which is why I've labeled this a "work in progress." I'm planning to reintroduce some form of sunshade (as seen in my earlier work where I utilized the same handle extensions to support a cardboard sunshade) by screwing it onto one or both of the threaded rods instead of using nuts. I drew inspiration from a lanyard mount design for this same controller, which was posted on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3568306). I took that idea and reimagined it in my own way, significantly extending its functionality. I also included a hole near the handle in case you want to attach a lanyard cable as well. The original designer of the lanyard part included a video demonstrating how they're installed. You can access this video by clicking on the link above, which shows exactly how my arm extenders are installed. To facilitate modification and customization, I've included the f3d Fusion 360 files. Both f3d files are parameter-driven, allowing most of the design to be adjusted simply by inputting different numbers. The only exception is the support rods on the main body; if you attempt to increase their diameter, it won't work because the threads added later in the design restrict any changes. In this case, you'll need to remove the threads and then re-model them after changing the diameter.
