Mauser C96 "Red 9"

The Prussian Mauser Model, A Study in Precision I've taken the iconic Mauser firearm as my subject, specifically the Prussian variant. Note the distinctive red "9" engraved on the wooden grip – a subtle yet crucial detail that warns users against loading the wrong type of ammunition. This piece serves as an exploration of weapon modeling, and I'm grateful to have had the guidance of Simon Fuchs' exceptional tutorial. Breaking down the model's components, we see a staggering 12,000 tris dedicated to the gun and stock. Meanwhile, the bullets and bullet rail account for a substantial 10,500 tris. Textures, too, play a crucial role, with 2K maps employed throughout to achieve a level of realism that's nothing short of impressive.
