Maus Turret

Maus Turret

I converted a raw turret shell for the Pkw VIII Maus tank into an unfinished version like the six found by the British at a factory after the war. The conversion involved editing, specifically opening up all the holes where hatches, gun ports and other components were located. I also adjusted the turret ring to fit properly with the Maus hull. This model is in 1:35 scale and prints within 14-15 hours. I found that printing with the turret ring on the bed works best as most of the supports needed for printing are located inside this part. Using PLA filament at a 10-20% fill rate produces excellent results, although one print done at 100% fill also worked great but was unnecessary. I plan to post additional parts, including gas tanks, gun mantlets, guns, lights, tracks and drive trains soon or as soon as I confirm their proper printability for use in a diorama build.
