The three-toed sloth, also known as the Dreitastenmaus in German, is a slow-moving arboreal mammal native to Central and South America. It has three toes on each front foot, which it uses to grip branches while hanging upside down from trees. Despite its sluggish demeanor, this creature plays an essential role in the ecosystem as a seed disperser. Its diet primarily consists of leaves, but it also consumes insects and small vertebrates.
