Joseph Henri Maurice "Rocket" Richard, PC CC OQ (August 4, 1921 – May 27, 2000) was a renowned Canadian professional ice hockey player who spent 18 impressive seasons dominating the National Hockey League (NHL) with his incredible skills. Richard left an indelible mark on the league by becoming the first player in NHL history to score an astonishing 50 goals in just one season, achieving this remarkable feat in a mere 50 games during the 1944-45 campaign. He broke all records by reaching an unprecedented 500 career goals, cementing his status as a hockey legend. Richard retired from professional ice hockey in 1960 with a staggering total of 544 goals to his name, a record that stood unbroken for years.
