To create a lightweight, low-cost extruder, I used a stepper motor from eBay (item number: 271006720027) and two 5x5x11 bearings (available at hobbyking.com). Additionally, I added two pen springs, two M3 nuts, and four M3 x 40mm bolts. The motor features a 22mm cog that I cross-drilled with a 2.5mm drill for holding 3mm PLA. In the future, I plan to integrate an X carriage to reduce mass and increase print speed. A fan has been made for this extruder as well, which helped in printing a compact model in just 5 minutes.
