Update 1-26-2019: Tracks Fit on Newest Revo Tracks now fit perfectly on the newest Revo model. I've updated all file names to include the number of parts needed for a full set of 4 tracks, indicated by "-x4" at the end. Update 11/16/2018: File Name Updates I've recently updated all file names to reflect the correct number of parts required for each track. This should make it easier for users to know exactly what they need to print. Update 1/1/2018: New Year's Update and Mold Progress Happy New Year! I've been working hard on creating a plastic injection mold for the track links, which will save a lot of time compared to printing them individually. For those with access to a CNC mill and plastic injection molding machine, I've shared my design on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2740603). This is an upgraded version of the track link, designed for high flotation. Update 12/17/17: Modified Tracks for Improved Floatation I've modified the tracks to have a larger footprint, which helps float on snow and reduces ground pressure. This should improve overall performance in snowy conditions. Update 12/13/17: Video Update Check out this video (https://youtu.be/8FQoi-6eq5I) for an update on my progress. Update 12/10/17: Redesigned Idler Wheel I've redesigned the idler wheel to print without support and prevent snow from packing up in its grooves. The new design uses 4 separate pieces and retains the same bearings as before. Update 12/8/17: Drive Wheel Testing I've tested the drive wheels and they work well, with minimal snow buildup on the wheel. I'm now using V4 drive wheels for improved performance. Update 12/7/17: Experimental Wheels and Track Links I've found that the drive wheels can pack up with snow, causing problems. To address this issue, I've created some experimental wheels that should help remove snow from the wheels. I've also added track links made with 3mm ABS filament for improved durability. Update 11/29/17: Track Clip Update I've found that as tracks break in, they can ratchet back into reverse after loosening up. To solve this issue, I've added a track clip of varying thickness to take up extra slop as the tracks brake in. This will prevent the tracks from ratcheting. Update 11/28/17: Snowy Fun Check out this video (https://youtu.be/6NGkhNB2_HU) for some snowy fun! The auto track tensioners performed flawlessly, while the manual tensioners on the rear loosened up and started to skip. Update 11/25/17: Spring Track Tensioner Update I've modified the tracks again to include a spring track tensioner. This will allow for easier track assembly and improved performance. I'll upload files after printing and testing parts for fit and function. Update 11/27/17: First Test Drive One set of tracks is now complete, weighing in at 2lb 10oz per unit with an auto tensioner. With the current setup, one spool of plastic will yield a full track assembly. I'll do my first test drive on the 28th, hoping to capture some video for sharing.
