MATHEMATICAL ART - SEASHELL

It should be perfect for home decor. You can simply place it on a table or hang it up near windows to admire its beauty.:) The process of creating this model was a blast. I was just messing around with Mathematica, trying out different functions and graphing techniques. When I achieve the desired shape, I use several programs to edit it for an elegantly looking pattern. Software used include Meshmixer, Meshlab, 3Ds Max, NetFabb.I uploaded both a small model and a scaled-up version of the model. The model featured in the picture is the larger one, and I ordered it printed from Shapeways.com.I have also successfully printed the smaller version of the model by using the "half1" and "half2" models that I uploaded. I printed them separately with supports and then super-glued them together, resulting in a beautiful outcome. :)
