Human Understands Mathematik 3D Printable and Machinable Objects for the Mathematik Classroom. Why and What? At Hochschule Ansbach, I teach Mathematics in Engineering programs. Although Mathematik is beautiful, it remains abstract to many students. To help students grasp functions and mathematical objects, I've prepared some 3D printable math objects. Even virtually represented in a 3D display with the software I use in class, GNU Octave, it stays virtual. The printed objects can be held and used in reality. Also, engineers - and even some mathematicians - enjoy tinkering. So it brings joy not only to the teacher but also to the students. What's Here and Where is the Rest? Here on Thingiverse, I've uploaded a few images and especially the generated STLs. The STLs can be printed directly. A few 3D objects require support. I created the STLs using OpenSCAD. Complex mathematical calculations like surface calculations are done beforehand with GNU Octave. I manage these scripts on github at MatheBegreifen. This keeps track of changes visible.
