I created this innovative redesign of an educational toy that streamlines the manufacturing process. The remodel incorporates draft and negative characters to eliminate support printing altogether. Additionally, I optimized the design so no part cleaning is required. Standardization has taken center stage, as the central tube is now a 1" PVC pipe, a versatile size easily sourced by many makers. UPDATE: I have included an alternative version specifically tailored for use with 32mm water-based PVC tubes. This revised assembly boasts improved print times of approximately three hours and twenty minutes. Visual reference images show a white and pink compact assembly that embodies efficiency. UPDATE: Noted corrections apply, as version one is designed for use with a 25mm tube. In stark contrast, 1" tubing may present challenges due to differing measurements, which may impact turning functionality. Careful attention to part scaling in X and Y dimensions will alleviate these difficulties, creating smoother movement when combined. I further refined this educational toy to create Version two for those who opt to use the aforementioned larger tubes.
