Math Fractions Kit

thingiverse

My mom is a math teacher who required some fraction pieces for her students, and after I created the set, I realized that other teachers could also benefit from using it. They're circles, making it clear how many pieces remain to fill up the whole without needing fill-in trays. The numerators are inset, and the denominators are extruded to convey that the numerators are just pieces filling up the entire denominator. Initially, I printed them at 1cm thickness, but I found that 5mm is more than sufficient for strength. If you know a teacher who might appreciate this set, please let them know about it since these types of plastic kits can be quite expensive. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer Model: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: None Supports: None Resolution: Any Infill: 25% or higher Notes: I would recommend using a high infill setting since it's a large flat area to cover, and I used 25% infill with 6 top solid layers. You'll need to be aware of the tips curling up; I used PLA but still employed the heated bed (50C) with plenty of glue, and never needed a raft.
