To recreate the process, install Inkscape from their website, then add the textext extension for more functionality. Next, install the inkscape2openscad extension to enable exporting to OpenSCAD. Open Inkscape and select "Extensions -> Render -> LaTeX formula...". Type your desired formula; one example is (x^2+(y-\sqrt[3]{x^2})^2=1), which creates a heart shape. Export the formula to OpenSCAD using "Extensions -> Generate from Path -> Paths to OpenSCAD...". Finally, open the file in OpenSCAD and modify as needed.
