This presentation delves into the dynamics between materials and areas in public spaces. Specifically, it examines how varying materials establish invisible boundaries between distinct zones with minimal physical barriers. To dissect the transitions between these zones, we investigated how users interacted with the spaces and the forces hindering them from crossing these invisible boundaries at material transition points. Each zone possesses a clear process and flow, yet navigating these material transitions poses a different level of risk for the flaneur. This principle serves as the foundation for developing a model.
