Match case with pop bottle threads

thingiverse

It's a straightforward match case that holds its ground and lasts, long enough to hold strike anywhere matches in one place and gives a little extra room to store some tinder like a few cotton balls too. The top gets threaded so it fits on standard soda bottle tops giving a reliable waterproof seal around the bottle, better than 3D printed caps can give. You can get strike-anywhere matches to work well by striking them right against the side of the bottle but this might leave behind some marks there. This could make for a good practical first project for 3D printing that Boy Scouts might like. If you build one remember to post pictures so everyone else can see how it turns out! Printing Instructions: Print these threads using a 0.2mm layer thickness since this setting works fine and is not needed to get thinner if you don't want to go any lower. I think printing this thing with PET will work well because it doesn't warp, stays strong for good long time.
