The fossilized caudal vertebra of a massive prehistoric mammal, known as an Arborio mastodon ([Mammut americanum]), was meticulously digitized using advanced three-dimensional scanning technology on March 7, 2019 at the esteemed New York State Museum. The precise scan was courtesy of the museum's vast collection, specifically specimen V102, graciously provided by the New York State Museum.
