Master Sword Scabbard Remote Holder
prusaprinters
A (wearable) Remote Holder inspired by the scabbard for the “Master Sword” from the Legend of Zelda series. Note that with the current proportions, it comes out something closer to a scabbard for a dagger. DimensionsBehind the scenes, I have a Fusion 360 file with a few User Parameters to adjust the important dimensions, but unfortunately they aren't yet stable enough at the time of initial publishing to include the file here. So, for now support is limited to dimensions based on a remote I had on-hand & on which the initial iteration was based.Slot for Remote Width: 50 mm (almost 1.97")Depth: 20 mm (almost 0.79")Concealed Remote height: ca. 15 cm (just over 5.9")Belt LoopMax thickness: 6 mm (slightly less than ¼")Height at midpoint: ca. 30.1 mm (just over 1 3/16") Supported RemotesSony smart TV remotes - measured 45.5mm (w) x 12mm (d) (including ‘feet’) / ca. 16 mm (d) (including ‘feet’ and buttons)Note that the dimensions are somewhat larger than the initial remote designed for, so there are probably a number of additional supported remotes (Probably not several remotes for Samsung smart TVs, as I seem to recall them having a semi-circle cross-section that is quite a bit thicker than currently supported) Print Settings:Rafts - NoSupports - Yes, someEmbossed details - yes - For many of these, you might get OK results, but my test prints showed a bit of drooping in places, so it is better to include them hereBelt loops - yes (critical) - Without supports I saw drooping of the first couple layers, which could reduce the stability of the belt loops when in use.Remote slot - No - The slot for the remote is designed to not need supports (They could be hard to remove)Infill - Min 10% - All prints I did with 10% (type “grid” in PrusaSlicer) seemed plenty stable for me, but this could vary based on the type of infill your slicer uses, and your intended use.Layer Height - 0.2 - 0.3 (verified) - The low amount of truly fine detail should make this model pretty flexible in this regard. Changelog14 Nov 2022 - Added picture of printed version
