Massey Ferguson 65 Tractor Dual Clutch Alignment Tool

Massey Ferguson 65 Tractor Dual Clutch Alignment Tool

thingiverse

This is a clutch alignment tool for the dual clutch fitted to Massey Ferguson tractors. It was developed for a 1958 MF65, for the dual clutch fitted to the Perkins 4.192 engine, after we found that the original tool is no longer available and the third party tools give insufficiently accurate alignment to make engine/gearbox mating easy. It should fit a whole bunch of other models as published. This one has ten splines on both clutch plates, the outer is one and three quarter inches diameter, the inner is one and an eighth inches, but all dimensions are tweakable in the OpenSCAD source for other models. Kudos to Ian Oliver for sorting out the mildly tricky maths before I had to think about it, but he would like it known that he had nothing whatsoever to do with the ugly code that I wrapped around it. We found that printing at 0.2mm with 10 layers of wall/top/bottom gave enough strength to work well.
