mass-cube and adapter for spools with smaller diameter
thingiverse
Dear all, I'm a big fan of ea69's mass-based rewind-spool, and I've been using it without any issues. My remix takes the original design and adds three features that make it even better. Here are the key improvements: 1) Allows for mounting spools with smaller diameters 2) Replaces bolts with a cube that can be filled with anything as a counterweight 3) Adds bowden-mounts for both 45-degree and 90-degree angles, with a smaller diameter (6mm) Check out my remix at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3724901 Here are the details: 1) Initially, I couldn't find bolts to create the necessary mass for push-down. So, I designed a box that can be filled with whatever materials I have on hand - old bearings, small screws, or even stones. The box fits perfectly onto the original mount without any modifications. All parts in these photos were printed blue for this version. 2) Next, I tackled my spool's inner diameter, which was too small to center properly. To solve this issue, I created a small adapter (printed in red on the pictures), which has a smaller diameter and works great. 3) Ea69 requires 10mm bowden-mounts, but I only had 6mm ones. So, I designed versions with a smaller diameter - you can find them at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3724901 My additions can be easily bolted onto the original thing (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3691892) without any modifications. If needed, I can make this item customizable using the customizer tool, allowing you to change the box size and other parameters with ease. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks, Christian
