MasonStonehenge's Ormerod Spring-loaded extruder with larger holes
thingiverse
I've taken the Spring-loaded extruder design by MasonStonehenge and given it a boost, enlarging the hole around the hobbed nut to make it easier to feed filament through. The original small hole was causing me some trouble, but a longer drill wasn't within reach, so I marked the problematic area with orange circles on the image. Print Settings: Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.1-0.2 Infill: 30 Notes: Keep layerheight low to get those holes as round as possible. A minimum of 30% infill will keep it from breaking apart. I started with MasonStonehenge's original design, importing it into IronCAD and then simply expanding the small filament hole around the hobbed nut. After that, I used Netfabb Basic to repair any issues in the model.
