The original model had holes positioned below the waterline, which was deemed an engineering flaw due to persistent submersion that fosters root rot in the soil. I relocated the holes (and added additional ones) above the waterline. This design should theoretically slow down watering by allowing natural evaporation to moisten the plant. Do your research - not all plants thrive in consistent moisture conditions. In fact, most common household plants require the soil to be completely dry between waterings. This approach will prove effective for plants that can tolerate a constant level of moisture.
