In this project, you'll harness a mason jar placed atop a 3D-printed container to craft a greenhouse effect for nurturing plants. Designing the Setup First, I created a pot that snugly fits around a mason jar. Next, I drilled a hole at the bottom so excess water can escape if needed. Custom Section Project: Mason Jar Container Objectives: Students will grasp the principles of greenhouse effects and basic planting techniques. Audience: Children studying biology Preparation: Soil, 3D printer, small plant or seeds, water, sunlight, and a mason jar Steps: Download and print the file Fill the pot with soil Plant seeds in the pot Position the mason jar on top of the pot Place everything under direct sunlight If the mason jar is slightly loose, use putty to secure it firmly Outcomes: Children gain knowledge about greenhouse effects, learn how to 3D print their own container, and develop planting skills.
