Mason jar neck v7
thingiverse
OpenSCAD design for a replacement for a mason jar neck. This provides the jar part, not the lid part! Lids and rings are readily available elsewhere, but I couldn't find a design for the jar neck. The idea is that you can bolt this onto a larger container and then use mason jar lids on it. e.g. let's say you have a tiny moss terrarium inside a mason jar, and it's got some sensors and air tubing coming in the top, because you can't be too fancy with these things. Now let's say you want to use those same lids on some big old container that's not a mason jar. Well, give it a mason jar top by bolting/caulking one of these on the top, and now you can use your same lids on it! The exact 'outer diameter' was chosen because that's what works when this is printed using my printer, which is probably calibrated a little differently than everyone else's. You may have to tweak the size by trial and error before your prints fit in the lids. Screw holes are sized for #6 screws. Their diameter can be changed with Customizer. Dimensions are all in inches and multiplied by 25.4 internally because I generally think in inches. ## Customizing using Customizer The following are customizable: - Regular or widemouth variations (which have different base sizes) - Thread outer diameter (separately for regular and widemouth) - Thread shape (angle from vertical and outer flattening) - Neck height - Base thickness - Mounting hole diameter
