Mason Jar Multi-Mouse Trap

Mason Jar Multi-Mouse Trap

This quick-printing live mousetrap lets you catch multiple mice without having to reset it. It uses a standard wide-mouth mason jar (approx. 3 1/2" dia. lid). I haven't had a chance to test this yet (our house is pretty mouse-free, currently), but it's a pretty standard design. Just smear a little peanut butter on the inside of the flapper (as an odor lure) and another little dab at the bottom of the jar. Also note: mice can get stressed and attack one another if confined in a small space. I'd recommend putting a little leaf litter or other organic material in the bottom side of the jar that they can burrow into to reduce their stress levels. And when you place the jar trap, make sure it is horizontal and nestled in dirt or maybe a rag so that it can't roll back & forth. **UPDATE:** Turns out some of the more dexterous mice can lift the flapper using the vent holes. I've updated the flapper to have just a single vent hole near the hinge, which should be much harder for them to use as a handle..
