I designed this primarily to make the sealing lid for a ball jar fit easily under the dispenser valve so the jar can be tightly sealed. Popcorn needs to be kept at the proper moisture level for optimal popping. I also changed the "split line" to allow the threaded portion of the valve housing to be undivided. The ball is designed as one piece with built-in supports. The handle is fashioned after a water valve handle and is held on with a stainless steel washer and a 1/4-20 x 1/2" long Phillips head cap screw. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: .01 Infill: 15% Notes: I updated the housing file to add small connection points between the two parts because with some materials one half would fall away while printing. A raft is not necessary for the handle. I printed the housing and the handle in ABS at a 103% scale to allow for shrinkage. It works great! Custom Section: Items needed to complete: 1.) 1 Phillips head cap screw, stainless steel, 1/4-20 UNC x 1/2" long 2.) 1 Washer, flat, stainless steel, #10 3.) 2 Phillips head cap screws, stainless steel, #8-32 UNF x 1/2" long 4.) 2 Nuts, acorn, brass, #8-32 UNF
