Mask of the River God Achelous (no base)
myminifactory
Marathon/Attica (Greece), obtained in 1848. Marble, dating back to approximately 470 BC. The marble mask was long considered an early representation of Dionysus without providing a convincing explanation for the dowel holes on its sides. Adding bull's ears and horns typical of the river god Achelous, a bull's mask can be reconstructed. This object can be downloaded with a base here. It is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access at no cost.
