Mask Filter Cutter
thingiverse
This cutter makes round filter disks from soft materials for Covid masks. To make sure your mask has the right-sized hole, print the adapter if the disk is too large. You can find photos of this project on Flickr in my album at https://www.flickr.com/photos/steamboat_ed/albums/72157715234920056. If makeup pads don't fit in the cutter, paper kitchen towels or blue shop towels work well as substitutes. Scissors can take forever to cut rounds from these materials. This cutter makes it quick and easy. Paper disks cut with this tool are about 55mm in diameter. You can scale up or down as needed. Here's how to use the cutter: 1) Print the holder. 2) Break a double-edge razor blade in half, or use a single-edge blade. 3) Insert the blade, blunt end first, into the circular slot. 4) Turn the holder so the blades press on a flat surface to even out the cutting height. 5) Tighten the M3 setscrews to hold the blades in place. I've ordered some razor die material and will be giving away cutters until my supply runs out.
