Human: This visor is a variant of the Mas.K (original link, in English: ...). It was designed to be used at the checkout counters of Gieffe supermarkets in Cagliari. Mas.K is a visor composed of three elements: 3D printed frame, A4 acetate sheet, and a 35 cm elastic with a 1.5 cm thickness. THE FRAME The frame is made of PLA material in "Silk White" color (brand Eryone and Sunlu) and was printed on Anet A8 printers with a layer thickness set to 0.2 and reduced speed to enhance the material's luster. The frame weighs 35 grams and, like any object in PLA, is very sensitive to heat... in Cagliari, parked outside a car in the sun it melts after 10 minutes :-))). THE SCREEN The A4 acetate sheet is simply held in place by friction between the two layers of the frame. The tension exerted by the elastic prevents the sheet from falling. If you want to replace the sheet or raise/lower it, just widen the frame (or remove the elastic) and the sheet will come out immediately. So when not worn (and the elastic is not in tension), the sheet may fall out. But while wearing it, the sheet will be perfectly fixed! We chose acetate for its flexibility and maximum transparency. However, with wear and tear and frequent cleaning, it may scratch. Therefore, we recommend getting some spare sheets (we get them from Incas Pisano and Cartoleria Dessì). With this system, the sheet can be positioned lower or higher to taste. THE DIMENSIONS OF THE Mas.K Gieffe allow for mounting visors much larger than the A4 sheet in stock. If you want, you can buy an A3 sheet and cut it to your liking! But we thought a sheet of A4 paper laid horizontally was more than enough. ELASTIC The Mas.K are designed to mount black elastic bands from Muschen (made in Italy) with a 1.5 cm thickness. We bought some from the Ciabatti haberdashery on Via Dante and others online from Lo Spillo website. We suggest fixing the elastic in the four suitable slots in the following order: 1) slot outermost from inside to outside, 2) then enter the inner one, 3) subsequently insert from inside to outside in the central one, 4) finally pass it through the initial slot (the outermost one) In this way, the elastic will be perfectly fixed and you can adjust it as you see fit. We recommend not tightening more than necessary (to keep the visor in place and exert pressure on the transparent screen!).
