Mary Washington House Sundial
sketchfab
Located at the historic Mary Washington House in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, this iconic sundial stands as one of the few surviving relics from the life of George Washington's mother, Martha Dandridge Custis Washington. Originally situated on her beloved Ferry Farm property, Martha later relocated the sundial to its final resting place in Fredericksburg. The pedestal supporting the sundial is an original piece that once belonged to Mary Washington herself. Tragically, the sundial itself was pilfered during the tumultuous Civil War era and never recovered or reinstalled. The modern-day sundial perched atop its antique base is a meticulously crafted replica.
