I created this lithophane using http://3dp.rocks/lithophane/. To highlight details, I edited the original picture from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Katherine_Goddard, removing background and finer details. Darker areas were emphasized to stand out as thicker areas on the lithophane. After uploading this picture into 3dp.rocks, I noticed that lighter areas would appear dark. This model was shared to demonstrate the iteration process. The picture was then converted to photonegative and uploaded again to produce the final "Mary Katherine Goddard Inverted". I developed an interest in Mary Katherine Goddard after visiting Philadelphia, where I learned about printing at the Benjamin Franklin Printing Press exhibit. As a print shop owner, Goddard offered her press for printing a mass-produced copy of the Declaration of Independence. The Second Continental Congress authorized the printing in 1777, making it the first to include the signers' names. At that time, this was considered a treasonable offense. This version of the Declaration is known as the Goddard Broadside. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Goddard_broadside.jpg Print Settings: * Printer Brand: + Afinia * Printer: + AFINIA H480 * Rafts: + Doesn't Matter * Supports: + Doesn't Matter * Resolution: + Hi
