The Coney Island Scan-A-Rama, a cutting-edge 21st century portrait studio, debuted its new scanning rig - the Scan-O-Tron 3000 - at Danbury MakerFaire on June 8th, 2013. The Xbox Kinect and ReconstructMe technology were used for scanning. Beautiful scans were produced, leading to a planned Kickstarter campaign for Scan-A-Rama with open sourcing of the plans.
