Martinique and the Caribbees
thingiverse
The relief maps shown here are for Martinique and some Caribbean islands. Data was sourced from GMTED2010, a USGS dataset obtainable on Earth Explorer. This global elevation data set is in geotiff format with 7.5 arc-second resolution. From the data, 10n090w_20101117_gmted_mea075.tif was downloaded and converted to raw format using Adobe Photoshop. The raw file contains 14400 rows and 9600 columns of two byte signed integers. A Fortran program similar to those in things 118327 and 121275 was used to treat the raw file. Stl files available are st_kitts_nevis, guadaloupe, dominica, martinique, st_lucia, and st_vincent. The provided Fortran program generates openSCAD polyhedron commands for printing the stl files directly on the build platform. Notably, Martinique is recognized for the 1902 Mount Pelee disaster and "Ti-Coyo and his Shark" by Martinquan Clement Richer; Mount Pelee is the volcano at the northern end of the island.
