Martian II Underside Mounting Kit
thingiverse
This is a mounting kit for the Martian II drone frame, designed to extend what you can install underneath the existing frame. It includes: - Underside mounting plate - Legs - GoPro mount - Raspberry Pi Zero mount - Template (plain) mount ## Underside Mounting Plate This is designed to be an addition to the existing bottom plate of the frame. You should be able to use the original M3 long screws that came with the frame to install this. See photos on this design for how to install! If you need additional M3 screws, you should get some that are at least 10mm long. Required hardware: - M3 screws (at least 10mm long) - 8x M3 heat-set inserts (I used [these](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B089GNXKKV)) ## Legs I've flown and crashed with these legs installed, and they hold up pretty well. The design is a [remix](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3761597). The .stl is of just one leg, so that its easier to print singular replacements when you end up crashing! Note: these should be mounted on the front and back of the mounting plate. Required hardware - Mounting plate (included) - 2x M3 8mm screw (per leg) ## GoPro mount This mount is intended for a GoPro with the fast attach mount included with the camera. It's quite a tight fit, so be prepared to connect/disconnect to it a few times before it'll work smoothly. There's not a huge amount of clearance from the top of my Hero 9 to the ground using this mount, so take care when landing on rough terrain. You'll want to print this one with supports. Required hardware: - Mounting plate (included) - 4x M3 8mm screw ## Raspberry Pi Zero mount This mount allows you to attach a Raspberry Pi Zero as a companion computer; pretty useful if you're running e.g. ArduPilot on a flight controller. The lid is supposed to be push-fit, but because it has to fight against gravity when installed, I found it a good idea to tape it in-place for extra peace-of-mind. Both the GPIO pins and CSI camera port are exposed. Note: in the included photos, I have also installed my [Raspberry Pi Camera Flat Mount](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5193330) with a touch of superglue. Required hardware: - Mounting plate (included) - 4x M3 8mm screw - 4x M2.5 5mm screw ## Plain mount This is a blank mounting plate for you to use as a template for creating additional mounts.
