The word "drone" had two distinct meanings: a male bee or a monotonous sound that persisted for an extended period of time. The term gained a new meaning in 1946 when it was first applied to unmanned aerial vehicles. However, significant advancements in drone technology over the past few years have made this terminology increasingly common. The Ruston Proctor Aerial Target became history's very first pilotless winged aircraft in 1917, just 16 years after the Wright Brothers achieved their pioneering Kitty Hawk flight. This radio-controlled airplane was designed based on Nikola Tesla's RC technology invention. Today, these devices originated primarily for military use, but their applications are rapidly expanding to include commercial, scientific, recreational, agricultural, and other uses such as policing and surveillance, product delivery, aerial photography, smuggling, and drone racing.
