Martello Towers for Black Seas

Two distinct British Martello Tower coastal defense fortifications stand watch over the nation's eastern and southern shores. Constructed in response to the French invasion scare of the early 1800s, these towers numbered over a hundred, strategically placed to safeguard key coastlines. The smaller tower is equipped with a single heavy gun, capable of firing a 24lb-36lb projectile from its 360 degree rotating mounting, providing a comprehensive defensive capability. In contrast, the larger fortification boasts one cannon and two carronades, offering an even more formidable defense against potential threats. The walls of these towers are impressively thick, with the only entrance situated 15ft up on the side, accessible via a retractable ladder that could be swiftly retracted in times of attack. This design feature not only provided a secure entry point but also allowed for a rapid response to any incoming fire. Carefully spaced a cannon shot apart, these towers were intended to support each other, creating an interlocking defensive network that would prove difficult for any invader to breach. These scale models, crafted at 1/700, are specifically designed for use with the new Black Seas game.
