The base has been designed in 4 main components. The main building houses living quarters command center and science wings for all project that are deemed non-hazardous to human habitation. There is a separate building where science that may become dangerous is completed. This is where experimentation of biological organisms, generation methods for water and rocket fuel will occour. There is a chemical processing plant, for routine processing of supplies would occur. These chemicals include oxygen extraction, water extraction and perchlorate extraction. As the hazardous science labs develop and test better methods this building would be expanded to integrate those techniques. The final building is a food production facility where hydroponic and greenhouse techniques can be used to supply food for the colony. Robotic construction is achieved by combining regolith with imported polymers from Earth. Basic construction is a layer of polymerized soil, a layer of "loose" soil (under vacuum), and finally an outer layer of more polymerized soil. The outer layer would also incorporate solar panels for power. After the material science and geological science teams develop a better construction medium it would be possible to build a new complex and recycle the original polymers for other uses.
