Mars Rover Wheel

I allways wanted to build a mars rover like rc car. Therefor, i designed this rover wheel. It is about 200mm in diameter, 130mm wide, the rover should be about 1 meter long with six wheels. Of cause, this needs a lot of time to print. For one wheel, you need about 40 hours to print all parts. What you need to print: 8x Lamelle_H (Lamella_back) 8x Lamelle_V (Lamella_front) 1x Nabe1 (Hub1) or Nabe2 (Hub1 is with bearings, just running, Hub2 is for torque transmission) 1x Felge (Rim) 4x Radsegment (Wheel segment) 1x Felgenmatrix (Star shaped thing(or snowflake)) whatever.. :,D 1x Hex_Stein (Hex_Stone, only for Hub2) 2x Zentrierhülse (Centering sleeves, Only for Hub1) Not printed parts: 8x M4x15 cyl. head screws 6x M6x35 cyl head screws & washers+nuts 2x 608_zz or 608_2rs bearing (Only needed for Hub1) 1x 3x16mm steel stick (Only needed for Hub2) 1x 6mm steel rod (Only needed for Hub2) Length depends on how you want to connect it How to build: Use glue to connect te parts. Super glue or component glue, are working fine. 1. Glue the outer edge of the rim 2. Use 2x M4x15 to align wheel segment 1 with the rim 3. glue the outer areas of wheel segment one, where the other ones are going to touch 4. repeat 2. and 3. untill all segments are in place and glued (Use some tape, to keep the segments alignd while the glue hardens) 5. After the glue is hardened connect the wheel hub and (...this star shaped thing) to the rim Attention! Make sure the holes align as well as the spikes in the rim and the eight slots in the star, screw them together with M6x35 Screws with washers underneath and nuts. 6. Glue in the lamella on the front and back For Hub1: 7. Insert the 608 bearings on both sides on the hub 8. insert the centering sleeves from outside For Hub2: 7. Drill a 3mm hole in the 6mm steel rod, 25,8mm from outside rod to center of the hole 8. Push the 6mm steel rot trough the Hex_stone and hammer in the 3mm stick trough the hole in it (Cylinder shape is outside) Congratulations! your done. You can mount the wheel on an 6mm axle or design another hub by yourself. Info: Print the segments with 100% infill and raft(it might work without, but its not worth the risk) all other parts with min. 3 outside lines and 40% infill. Good luck & have fun!
