Order a 7" x 8" 3D Print. Have you ever stepped onto the surface of Mars? Probably only in your dreams, but with this model, you can experience what it's like to walk on the red planet firsthand. This model showcases a unique feature titled "Ring and Cone," brought to life with a vibrant tinted relief. The model comes with a built-in base, ensuring it sits perfectly on a desk or shelf. The High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) is a camera onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Weighing 65 kg (143 lbs), this $40 million USD instrument was designed and built under the direction of the University of Arizona's Lunar and Planetary Laboratory by Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. Equipped with a 0.5 m (19.7 in) aperture reflecting telescope, the largest ever used on a deep space mission, HiRISE takes high-resolution pictures of Mars with resolutions of 0.3 m/pixel (about 1 foot), clearly resolving objects below a meter across.
