This is a highly detailed, high-resolution model fully textured of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, boasting an impressive level of realism. Texture templates for solar panels are included, with a resolution of 2K. NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is a versatile spacecraft engineered to conduct reconnaissance and exploration of Mars from orbit. When MRO entered orbit, there were five other spacecraft already in orbit around or on Mars: the Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Express, Mars Odyssey, and two Mars Exploration Rovers - a record-breaking number for most operational spacecraft in the Martian vicinity. The $720 million USD spacecraft was designed by Lockheed Martin under the oversight of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. It was launched on August 12, 2005, and reached Martian orbit on March 10, 2006. In November 2006, after five months of aerobraking maneuvers, it entered its final science orbit and initiated its primary science phase.
