Mars Perseverance Landing Site - Raw Scan

A model of the Mars Perseverance rover landing site has been created using raw data directly from NASA. First, a simple model was built utilizing their YouTube stream video, but compression issues arose. So, the wait continued for photos to finally be uploaded on Sol 4. Raw PNG photos are available that require demosaicing, but they constitute only a small subset of the available JPGs (which are already compressed). A more abundant source of data has been used instead. It is hoped that more raw photos will soon be uploaded. A general inspiration for manual demosaicing can be obtained from this notebook: https://github.com/colour-science/colour-demosaicing/blob/master/colour_demosaicing/examples/examples_bayer.ipynb Manual color correction was performed, resulting in images that are no longer magentish. However, it is doubted whether this is the correct approach. All source photos are courtesy of NASA/JPL-Caltech and were downloaded from https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/multimedia/raw-images/. The model was created with Agisoft Metashape.
