This is an exact replica of the Mars Pathfinder and Sojourner lander and rover that successfully touched down on Mars back in 1997. The model arrives as a single, compact piece when folded up. After removing the supporting material, you can easily open and close the side panels. Meanwhile, the Sojourner rover can fit neatly inside the model while it's still folded up. ***When first unfolding the model, be extremely cautious since support material is printed into the hinges. Avoid forcing a panel open at all costs. If one gets stuck, use pliers to carefully turn the axle itself and it should come loose with ease. Once you've opened the panels for the very first time, they should move freely without any issues whatsoever.
