Mars Olympus Mons
thingiverse
I successfully utilized multiple 3D design applications and 4K DEM Greyscale images of Mars to create an exact replica of Olympus Mons, the largest volcano and mountain in our solar system. The 1MB file features my name engraved on the side of its base, while the 5MB file showcases the volcano alone. Upcoming photos will provide a closer look at this impressive creation. My printing settings are optimized for exceptional results: I'm using my MakerBot Replicator 2X printer with a wide range of options available. Rafts aren't required, and supports can be omitted to achieve maximum precision. With a resolution ranging from .05mm to .2mm, and infill percentages from 30% to 100%, this model is highly customizable and can be easily scaled to suit any needs.
