This utilitarian model takes advantage of spherical pods designed to stand up to intense Martian wind. The translucent pods are rigid but inflatable and designed to take the utmost advantage of all available Martian sunlight. The black cylinder pod is the first object to touch down on the surface and will contain the rest of the base as well as personnel and supplies. The solid cylindrical pod provides a place of safety in less than ideal conditions.
