Mars Attacks (itself)

This is an updated version of the design AdamDC came up with for a full-body/shell spinner. His brushless motor friction wheel on a sled concept is truly innovative! This is my V2 design, and I'm excited to say that it's a major improvement over my previous version, which unfortunately exploded whenever I got the shell up to speed. V1 had some serious issues. Two versions of the shell are included - a three-toothed wacker and a twisty ramp swirly thing that crossed my mind while brainstorming ideas. I'm still experimenting with different designs here. Also, this design is optimized for printing on a 200mm x 200mm bed size. Here's a breakdown of the materials used: Electronics and components: * 8mm aluminum rod * Bearing - a 608-sized skateboard bearing from McMaster (part #5972k910) * C-Clips - also from McMaster (part #9853a114) * ESC = DasMikro Duel (http://tinyurl.com/ybvkxqxj) or a pair of these EBAY 10a motors (http://tinyurl.com/y7d8ql88) * RX = Hobby King 6-channel transmitter compatible with the entry-level Hobby King HK-T6A * Drive Motors = N20's 50:1 ratio (although I think 30:1 would be even quicker) * Weapon Motor = DYS BE1806 2300KV brushless motor (http://tinyurl.com/y8rayba8) * Shell ESC = RaceStar 10a (http://tinyurl.com/yd35e9la) * Battery = Nano-tec 3s 450mah * Wheels = Lego 35mm + the 3D printed Lego hub attached * All body screws and hardware are 3mm in size * Belly-mounted master switch = I use these DPDT switches from Amazon (http://tinyurl.com/y6v7nf3m) The teeth were cut from a sheet of 0.5 thick UHMU purchased from McMaster as well. Happy spinning! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLl0aVXNoog
