Alexander Burganov (born 1935) is a Russian sculptor, a National Artist of Russia, and a member of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts. His art is generally abstract and often uses fragments of human or animal bodies (especially horses) to build a bigger picture. Marquis de Sade was a French nobleman, who is said to have lacked morality and is known as an author of sadistic (word derived from his name) pornographic stories. He mostly wrote while in prison, where he spent most of his adult life.
