This bust sculpted by the artist Hubert Louis Noël, depicts the marquis de Chennevières-Pointel also known as Jean de Falaise. Chennevières was a learned connoisseur who collected various art pieces. His passion for art and especially French drawings, brought him to join the Louvre becoming its curator between 1852 and 1870. His collected French drawings were object of an exhibition which took place at the Louvre in 2007 “Philippe de Chennevières - Collector of French 19th Century Drawings”
