Marlin / Glenfield Model 60 Barrel Picatinny Rail Adapter
thingiverse
I'm breathing new life into my trusty Model 60 by Marlin, and I just had to add some rails. Upgrading a rifle isn't complete without them, right? So, with no off-the-shelf options available, I designed a rail system for it myself. I've come up with four different designs, each one catering to specific needs. The first design features a smooth top and sides, while the bottom has a rail that can hold any accessory you might need. The second design adds a 12mm cutout in the top to allow for the original iron sights to be used. I've also included a tri-rail design where only the bottom section is railed, leaving the top free from obstructions. And finally, there's a fourth design that's similar to the third but includes a sight channel for the iron sights. The idea behind this rail system is to secure it to the gun using the accessory attached to the bottom, which works perfectly fine in my case. However, if you're planning to mount lasers or other equipment, I've provided three holes to securely attach the rail to the gun, preventing any movement. This feature also comes in handy when mounting a bipod, as they tend to generate a lot of force when opening and closing - at least that's what my spring-designed bipod did. The rail system is 80mm long and should fit without hindering loading. I'm calling it a night, but I'll post some pics on my gun forum tomorrow. Happy shooting!
