Marking Gauge Tool Hi everyone! I'm a carpenter, and I often need a tool for precise marking. I've seen many different projects online, but I couldn't find one that satisfied all of my needs. That's why I decided to create a completely new project based on my own requirements. At the same time, it's a project that's easily replicable and accessible to everyone. Let me list some of the things my project is based on: 1. The pencil lead should be flush with the bottom of the guide. This will help us avoid skewing during marking. 2. A quick clamp that won't shift position when tightened. 3. Compactness so that you can work in hard-to-reach places and start as close to the beginning of the workpiece as possible. 4. Ergonomics and ease of use. As a bonus, I added a hole for storing the pencil and a well-designed and convenient organizer. The box wasn't my idea, but if I find the author, I'll add a link to them. </div><div><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/454947/images/3740602_9fa28e58-f99d-4709-9625-4fcf9e4c211f/thumbs/inside/1920x1440/png/snimok-ekrana-2023-04-16-v-221847.webp"> Since this tool is not intended to be used at high temperatures, I printed it from PLA. I recommend to print these two parts with a layer height of 0.1mm so that the threads are very good. </div><div><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/454947/rich_content/28bb9b85-dac7-4f67-a191-231ee1b55913/thumbs/cover/800x290/png/untitled247.webp"> And everything else can be printed with a layer height of 0.2mm. In this photo you can see very clearly that the pencil does not protrude far from the mount for the pencil. And it allows you to hold the entire tool in the same position. That eliminates misalignment and a crooked line. </div><div><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/454947/rich_content/c545a11c-6e5b-4a0e-98bf-1ad7bf6b68c9/thumbs/cover/800x354/jpeg/img_1402.webp"> I also plan to add a blade module and metal marking needle in the future. If you have any questions or suggestions write to me I will try to answer you as soon as I can.
