In July 2019, Field Ready hosted a workshop at Erbil Makerspace where participants were tasked with using modeling to showcase their culture and traditional ways of life in Erbil, Iraq. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with people coming up with innovative ideas and captivating designs that reflected the city's rich heritage. One such design stood out - markana, a traditional Kurdish container crafted from clay to store water at a chilly temperature for drinking purposes. To use it effectively, the markana should be placed on a special stand, allowing users to keep their beverages cool for hours on end.
