Mark of the Doomslayer - Doom (2016)
thingiverse
I originally created this project to conduct a lighting test with some diffuser material and thought someone else might find it interesting. The model is a projection of the Doomslayer's mark from the 2016 Doom intro. Parts in the example project include: - A generic black 9"x9" shadowbox that can be found at most arts and crafts stores - Two 12" Red 12v LED strips I had on hand - Light diffuser film, similar to Inventables' product (https://www.inventables.com/technologies/light-diffuser-film-rolls) - A generic 12v 2A power supply with a barrel to cable screw adapter Assembly: Simply attach the diffuser film to the back of the printed piece. Then, attach the LEDs to the shadowbox divider ring or to the sides of the shadowbox (i.e., create a square ring of light emitting towards the middle). The rest is just wiring things together so that the light strips are wired in parallel. Printing notes: If the part is too big for your print bed, I recommend slicing off one or both of the solid sections on the sides and then reattaching them with superglue if you need the full dimensions of the part. This way, you don't have to worry about the "details" matching up since it's just filler.
