I scanned my head using an Xbox Kinect and ReconstructMeQT software, creating a 3D model of a coffee mug shaped like my own cranium. It's been quite useful! In photos, I showcased it as a bowl for M&Ms, a cup-a-soup mug, and a coffee mug with a Blue Brain drawing to celebrate the Blue Brain Project's European funding. This functional model was printed in glazed ceramic via Shapeways, albeit smaller than expected. The Kinect's resolution limitations are evident in the 3D scan.
